MAVEN MENTORS
This program is related to Building SustainAble Communities (BSC), but will be piloted after BSC is up and
running. Community ‘mavens’ (e.g. political leaders, business leaders, media personalities, and other change
agents) will be approached to work with the foundation to reach audiences within their spheres of influence in
the public, private, civic, innovation, and academic sectors.
Systematically, the foundation will conduct ‘complete’ research within all sectors to determine how they can
work individually and collectively to promote community sustainability.
All training and teaching materials for each sector (e.g. briefing notes, statistics, best practices, success
stories) will be prepared by the foundation with input from industry experts and distributed to the mavens
regularly. The mavens will meet as regularly as they see fit to sustain interest, commitment, and
productivity.
