Karen Needham
Karen Needham is the deputy city clerk for the City of Kelowna, joining the city in 2008 after completing her Master’s Degree in Public Administration at the University of Victoria. Her work on performance measurement in a learning (public) organization builds upon an expression of leadership that keeps people at the center of public life, and which, while maintaining traditional public sector values inherent in services to citizens, recognizes that the increasing complexity of the role of local government in our communities requires new ways of thinking. Karen views leadership as an evolving, dynamic process that must transcend traditional boundaries to create new possibilities and opportunities for the future. Karen holds an undergraduate degree in International Relations.
