Bonnie Thomas

Bonnie is youngest daughter to revered Secwepemc Elder, Dr. Mary Thomas. She carries on the work that Dr. Thomas started; promoting Secwepemc traditions. She is a board member and CEO of her Mother’s Switzmalph Cultural Society that offers traditional educational programming, cultural eco-tourism within their Secwepemc traditional village, traditional green housing, and restoration of wetland areas. Bonnie has previously been a political leader in her community of Neskonlith Indian Band for eight years and held many other employment positions that assist her in offering much-needed services in her community of Salmon Arm and area. Growing up with the valuable Secwepemc teachings of her Mother brings forward valuable knowledge to carry forward, as is a tradition of Secwepemc peoples.
