Pamela Miller has been advocating sustainable business for most of her adult life. Fifteen years ago, as owner of Lebens Restaurant, she purchased produce from organic farmers from the North, Central and South Organics Associations, hired a local baker to make daily organic bread for lunches, composted all food waste and catered a luncheon for 180 representatives of the BC Organics Association.

During her years at the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce (GVCC) Pamela wrote public policies that supported economic and environmental sustainability. These policies were passed by the BC and Canadian Chambers of Commerce and submitted to the applicable provincial and federal ministries. In addition, Pamela launched the eco-Chamber website, implemented on-site greening practices, wrote monthly green business articles and ran the eco-Chamber Social Media feed. As the GVCC Events Coordinator she organized over 30 annual events with attendance of between 25 to 500 people and coordinated sponsors for each event. With SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) she initiated the Green Business Award at the GVCC’s Annual Awards Gala.

Pamela’s undergraduate program at UVic and UBC, Vancouver was in architecture and languages and she completed urban design courses at SFU in Surrey. As the owner of Lebens Enterprise she aims to work with organizations that are making the greatest environmental sustainability impact in the business community. She is currently taking the Climate Smart course to measure, reduce and leverage the carbon footprint of major annual events at select hotels and conference centres.
