Jan Enns
Jan Enns is a communications expert who brings more than 20 years leadership and experience to her work with local governments and public agencies. After working for ICBC, the Regional District of Central Okanagan, and Interior health, Jan founded Jan Enns Communications to provide strategic direction for local governments and other public‐sector organizations. Putting her expertise into action, Jan has raised awareness and public participation through a variety of innovative and interactive programs, with a primary focus on solid waste management, public health, energy, and environmental issues.
Jan is a sought‐after speaker, providing tailor‐made interactive workshops for provincial and regional conferences. She is an annual speaker at the Local Government Management Association’s Municipal Administrative Training Institute (MATI) and an instructor for the University of Alberta’s National Advanced Certificate for Local Authority Administration. Jan also specializes in web‐based training for local government and public sector clients across North America, including BC’s Local Government Management Association.
Jan has a Masters in Applied Communications from Royal Roads University, a certificate in Local Government Administration from Capilano College, and certificates in Planning and Techniques for Public Participation. She is an active member in various community and professional committees, including the Okanagan Communicators Network, the International Association of Business Communicators, and the International Association of Public Participation.
